This event is a panel discussion featuring prominent multi-disciplinary Edmonton designers, as well as up and coming talent, discussing the importance of design to our city from both a historical and forward-thinking perspective. The panel discussion will be hosted and moderated by Edify.
Drinks and light food will be provided prior to the event with the programming in the theatre lasting about 1 hour. Attendees will receive one free drink ticket with admission purchase. The Seamless Spaces furniture exhibit will be open for viewing prior to and following the event.

Zachary Ayotte
Zachary is a writer and visual artist living in Treaty 6, Edmonton, AB. He has exhibited work nationally, and has published multiple book projects, including I Wish U Were Here, Notes on Digging A Hole, and At the Same Time. He is the associate editor at Edify magazine. His writing has appeared in publications like The Walrus, Culture Study, and Canadian Art.

Nick Kazakoff
Nick is an Industrial Designer co-founder of the design agency Onetwosix and the furniture manufacturer Loop. He believes in sustainable and socially responsible design through collaboration. As the current chair of MADE and lecturer in the department of Design University of Alberta, Nick is passionate about growing the creative community in Edmonton and showcasing the city as a place where good design happens.

Elisse Canaynay
Elisse is a fourth-year Bachelor of Design student in the Business Route at the University of Alberta. Her work explores the integration of nature in design and approaches that create meaningful connections between design and everyday life. She also serves as the Event Designer for the Student Design Association, where she focuses on shaping the visual identity and overall experience of the pop-up shop Built.

Kalie Johnston
Kalie Johnston is a fashion designer living in Edmonton, AB. She holds a Bachelor of Design in Fashion Design from Toronto Metropolitan University. Kalie has had a diverse career in fashion working as a designer for Joe Fresh and her independent label Stille Nord; a costume designer with the Alberta Ballet and Calgary Philharmonic; and a buyer with Gravitypope. She is currently the Director of Product Design at Poppy Barley.

Tim Antoniuk
Tim is an Associate Professor in the Industrial Design Program at the University of Alberta, where his research explores sensory experience, emotional durability, and innovative materials in design. He has collaborated with international studios like Droog and founded the Micro Habitation Lab to study modular and interactive living spaces. Currently, Tim is co-leading two major adaptive re-use architectural projects focused on enhancing social cohesion, trust, and local economies.
