Design Charette: O2 Design Charette
This event is a design intervention hosted and facilitated by O2 in collaboration with MADE. It will focus on the design and function of third spaces in winter cities, with a particular emphasis on repurposing the Lee Pavilion. The outcome of this charrette will serve as a starting point for discussions about the potential design and future use of the Lee Pavilion as a “park” in Edmonton.
Launch Party / Furniture Showcase: Kick-off Party
Kick off Edmonton Design Week 2025 in style! Join us for the official launch party, an evening that brings together the design community to celebrate creativity and set the stage for the week ahead.
This year, we’re honoring two incredible milestones: the Citadel Theatre’s 60th anniversary and MADE’s 25th anniversary. Guests will enjoy light appetizers, a complimentary drink ticket, and music by a live DJ to keep the energy high all night.
Attendees will also have the unique opportunity to explore the Seamless Spaces furniture exhibit and take part in guided tours led by the Citadel team.
Pecha Kucha: CAA X MADE Pecha Kucha - The Buildings We Visit
Made Premier Event - A Pecha Kucha style format event (8 presenters, 7 minutes per presentation, 20 slides, 20 seconds per slide) featuring architects and designers speaking about buildings and spaces they have travelled to visit, why they chose to visit them, how these buildings have inspired them and their design practices, and if there are parallels between those spaces and our built environment in Edmonton.
Speaker Series: Inflection Point: The Past and Future of Edmonton Design
This event is a panel discussion featuring prominent multi-disciplinary Edmonton designers, as well as up and coming talent, discussing the importance of design to our city from both a historical and forward-thinking perspective. The panel discussion will be hosted and moderated by Edify.
Drinks and light food will be provided prior to the event with the programming in the theatre lasting about 1 hour. Attendees will receive one free drink ticket with admission purchase. The Seamless Spaces furniture exhibit will be open for viewing prior to and following the event.
Closing Party: The Closing Night at Trove
Join Trove Living for the final celebration of Edmonton Design Week. Enjoy our elegant space while you indulge in Grey Goose martinis, caviar bumps, shucked oysters and the chef selection of hors d’oeuvres. An unmatched ambiance with a DJ and complimentary drink.
Film Screening: CBC On Design, Screening & Panel
CBC On Design explores how an idea becomes a product in your home. Between the initial concept and finished object lie sketches, prototypes, material experiments, user testing, manufacturing puzzles, and countless hidden steps, that journey is rarely a straight line. Each product tells its own story, from an international business born out of hybrid work constraints, to a secretive method for creating colourful concrete for a famous actor’s brand.
Join us for a screening of this made-in-Edmonton CBC web series, followed by a panel including the filmmakers and designers behind the project.
