Inspiring the Next Generation Through the Life Story of Wallbridge and Imrie

6 Acres (Imrie House - 17503 45 Ave NW, Edmonton, AB T6M 2N3) It is know as the “Land Stewardship Centre” on Google maps.
Step inside 6 Acres, the former home of pioneering Edmonton architects Jean Wallbridge and Mary Imrie, and discover the remarkable story of two women who helped shape Alberta’s architectural history.
In 1950, Wallbridge and Imrie opened Canada’s first female-led architecture firm right here in Edmonton. Local author Tyson Mastel will share their story through a reading of his picture book, The Girls: The Wild and Wondrous Lives of Jean Wallbridge and Mary Imrie.
Following the read-aloud, Tyson will co-host a short Q&A with 6 Acres expert Devon Moar, offering an opportunity to learn more about Jean and Mary, their groundbreaking work, and the place they called home.
The event will conclude with a guided tour of 6 Acres, giving participants the rare opportunity to experience the place where Jean and Mary lived and worked.
Come explore the story of two trailblazing women, discover the history of a remarkable Edmonton home, and be inspired by the lives they built together.
