Culture as Infrastructure: Making Space for Art in Edmonton
Sunday, October 18, 4:30pm - 6:30pm
The McLeod Building, 10134 100 Street NW, Edmonton
Join CIVIQ Labs for a conversation on how creative spaces, artists, and community partnerships shape Downtown Edmonton.
What does it take to make lasting space for culture in a city?
Join CIVIQ Labs Society during Edmonton Design Week for Culture as Infrastructure, an afternoon of three conversations about the people, places, and partnerships that make Edmonton a creative city. Together, we’ll explore how creative communities grow, what makes neighbourhoods places people want to visit and return to, and how underused downtown spaces can support art, connection, and community life.
The event takes place in the historic McLeod Building, in the corner space next to Woodwork near Rice Howard Way. Urban planners, artists, designers, organizers, and anyone interested in Edmonton’s cultural future are welcome.
